About this cruise
The ship will receive a makeover this April so this taster cruise is a great way to try out some of the new features such as Sky Pad, a virtual reality bungee trampoline experience; the new Splashaway Bay waterpark; the new waterslides; laser tag; the escape room; and much more. Royal Caribbean are also having a go at making traditional fish and chips in their Fish and Ships poolside outlet.
To see the ship, you'll first need to board and that takes place on Tuesday 15th May 2018 at Southampton. Once on board you'll have an afternoon and evening to take in some of what this ship has to offer. Enjoy a spot of dinner, then watch a live theatre show, head to one of the many bars, or party the night away. It's up to you how much - or little - you get up to.
On Wednesday you'll dock at Le Havre in France. If you're feeling up for it, join one of the optional shore excursions to Paris. It's a slog getting their and back, but you get to tick seeing the city of love off your bucket list. Alternatively, check out the small city of Le Havre. Soak in the French culture before heading back onboard Independence of the Seas to immerse yourself in even more things to do.
The ship will dock back in Southampton early on Thursday. You'll come away from this taster cruise tired but happy, and you'll crave another (longer) adventure. That's my experience with mini cruises anyway!
