Winter is creeping in, but here is an excuse to extend Summer, albeit for three nights.

Step aboard Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas, where three nights of fun await.

The ship effortlessly caters for a diverse range of passengers, and it is favoured by young and old as well as singles, couples, and families. With something for everyone, it manages to tick all the boxes for everyone. Looking for peace and quiet? Treat yourself in the spa, relax on your private balcony, head to the Solarium, or dine in a cosy speciality restaurant. Looking for thrills? Race up the climbing wall or try your hand at surfing or ice skating. Do not miss the Broadway-style shows in the main theatre, either.

This cruise departs Southampton in the evening on Thursday 25th October and sails overnight to Zeebrugge. This is the gateway port to Bruges or Brussels, and you can either book an optional shore excursion to visit these, tour on your own, or stay onboard. While tempting to stay onboard and enjoy the quieter facilities, you would be missing out on seriously good Belgian chocolate and beer, interesting museums, and local experiences.

The ship sails again overnight – while you are sleeping in your comfortable cabin or partying the night away in the clubs or bars onboard – bound for Le Havre. This French city is the cruising world’s gateway to Paris, and in just a couple of hours you can be sipping on wine and devouring exquisite patisserie in the nation’s capital city. Again, you have the option here to stay on the ship and enjoy the onboard facilities, or you can head off into Le Havre and explore the nearby areas.

Enjoy one more night at sea as the ship slowly meanders back across the English Channel to Southampton, docking early on Sunday morning.

The Route

The map above shows point-to-point lines which may cross land. Do not worry, your cruise ship will stay on water all the way! Mapping is approximate and the markers are based on city locations and not necessarily the ports. The itinerary for this mini cruise is:

DayDatePortWhen
1Thursday 25th October 2018Southampton4.30pm
2Friday 26th October 2018Zeebrugge7am to 4pm
3Saturday 27th October 2018Le Havre7am to 9pm
4Sunday 28th October 2018Southampton5.30am

Times are estimates, and itineraries are subject to change. Occasionally, cruise lines alter itineraries based on the weather or prevailing events at the time of the cruise.

The Price

When I last checked, prices for this cruise started from £347 per person, based on two sharing an inside cabin. This price excludes gratuities, shore excursions, and any applicable flights and transfers (if needed). As prices change far too quickly for me to keep up-to-date by hand, please use the link below to get the latest prices.
