DFDS Level 42 North Sea Sounds Themed Mini Cruise – 9th November 2018 Themed

North Sea Sounds is back at DFDS again this November with Level 42 headlining a mini cruise in November.

Timed for a cheeky weekend getaway, this themed mini cruise is one to mark in your calendar.

Cruise ship

Oh no, the ship has sailed on this cruise

Sorry, the ship has sailed on this mini cruise and I'm sure it was a blast! Never mind though, there are plenty more mini cruises to choose from.

About this cruise

Internationally acclaimed Level 42 headline this themed mini cruise, with a performance from local northern funk band, Smoove & Turrell, and guest DJs to boot too.

Your weekender begins at the International Passenger Terminal at the port in North Shields, to the east of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Check-in between 2.30pm and 4.15pm ready for a 5pm sail away.

And so your adventure begins at the moment you get on board. Relax and unwind on the comfortable modern cruise ferry. Head to the cinema, grab a bite to eat, prop up the bar, or hit the shops.

But you're here for one reason and one reason only: Level 42. In 2017 they performed on a 37-date sell-out European tour, on a tour of Japan, and 27 festivals. They're as busy as ever in 2018 but they've penned in a performance on the North Sea, playing an intimate gig just for mini cruise fans like you. The British Jazz Funk band will perform on the return leg of this cruise.

Expect to here a number of tracks from their 14 studio albums, hopefully with a performance of Something About You or Lessons in Love.

Geordie soul duo Smoove & Turrell will also be onboard to entertain on the outbound journey. The northern funk band has played on stages in Moscow, Ibiza, and Dubai, and are now heading aboard this ship to perform some of their best loved tracks. Fingers crossed for Will You Be Mine or Slow Down.

If all that wasn't enough, there's also special guest DJs who will host sets late into the night on both legs of the cruise. And when you're ready for some kip, head to your comfortable en-suite cabin. Upgrade to a premium Commodore and Commodore De Luxe cabin if, like me, you prefer to travel in style.

While this cruise is all about the musical talent, let's not forget the destination - Amsterdam. The ship will dock in Ijmuiden on Saturday morning and a coach will whisk you into the city.

You'll have up to five hours to do as you please in Amsterdam. Whether you fancy a bit of art, culture, history, sightseeing, shopping, or a drink or two, you will find it all in the Dutch capital.

Fancy a longer break? If you can bear losing Level 42 as your onboard entertainment, this trip is also available as a flexible cruise and stay product. You choose how many nights to spend in Amsterdam, from a single night to three nights in the city. The accommodation in Amsterdam is NOT included in the fare so you'll need to book that separately. Check Booking.com, Trivago, or HotelsCombined for an idea of what's available and at what price. Interested? Find all the details here°.

Catch the return coach back to the port in the afternoon and sail back to North Shields overnight. You'll have an evening of live entertainment in store to look forward to.

On Sunday morning the ferry will dock back in the UK, where it's sadly time to disembark.

Hungry? The cheapest rate includes dinner each way but you can upgrade to a package that includes breakfast too if you wish.

Mapping is approximate, and the scheduled times are estimates. Your trip is subject to change as, occasionally, operators have to alter itineraries due to bad weather or unforeseen events.
