About this cruise
On Thursday 3rd May 2018 you'll eagerly head to the International Passenger Terminal in North Shields, Newcastle, to board the lovely Balmoral. I loved my time on board this small ship and found plenty of spaces to gaze outside, making this the ideal ship to navigate the Norwegian Fjords. You'll have some time to explore the ship before embarking on this fantastic itinerary.
Friday is spent partly at sea and partly cruising through Lysefjord. A size restriction means only smaller ships can safely navigate their way along this fjord. Cameras at the ready!
You'll be refreshed and ready to stretch your legs on Saturday as you dock in the Hanseatic city of Bergen. Tour the museums, take in the sights of the colourful timber houses as you walk along the cobbled streets, or browse the shops lining the main streets. This is a city that's just as pretty as the fjords you are sailing.
Sunday's port of call is the tiny but picturesque village of Eidfjord which is nestled within the breathtaking Hardangerfjord. If you can, check out the Voringfossen Waterfall.
You might be tempted to enjoy dinner and a show onboard that evening, but try and tear yourself away as you'll cruise through Hardangerfjord, Maurangerfjord, and Furebergfossen late on Sunday night.
A day at sea on Monday is your last chance on this cruise to relax, unwind, and enjoy the entertainment laid on by the ship's staff. For on Tuesday Morning, you'll arrive back in Newcastle where you're memorable cruise will draw to a close.
