P&O Ferries Christmas Party Themed Mini Cruise – 14th December 2018
Fed up with enduring yet another office Christmas party?
Combine a fun-filled Christmas party with a pre-Christmas weekend escape to Bruges on a themed mini cruise with P&O Ferries from Hull.
About this cruise
You see, Bruges and Christmas goes hand in hand just like Belgian chocolate and beer. And this mini cruise over a weekend just before Christmas is perfect for sampling both in a picturesque setting.
Head to the port in Hull on Friday 14th December 2018. Check-in is between 4pm and 5pm, so if you can get out of work early on a Friday afternoon, this festive themed cruise has your name all over it. Sail on your own, with your partner, with friends, or convince your boss to move the office Christmas party onto the ferry!
Your home will be a modern cruise ferry bound for the Belgian port of Zeebrugge. Smaller than the ferries that run between the UK and Rotterdam, the ship still boasts plenty to keep you busy - shops, restaurants, bars, and a show lounge.
As far as entertainment goes, you are in for a real treat as both Glam45 and Xmastown are headlining. Expect a night of party tunes, 70s glam rock, and of course, plenty of Christmas classics. The set list is an eclectic mix of artists including Showaddywaddy, Bay City Rollers, Alvin Stardust, and the kings of Christmas, Slade.
You'll sail overnight from Hull and arrive in Zeebrugge on Saturday morning. Outside the terminal a coach will await, ready to whisk you off to the medieval city of Bruges. The coach park is to the south of the city with an easy walk into the historic centre. Here you'll find the annual Christmas Markets occupying Grote Markt, a big square in the city. Traditional stalls selling a variety of gifts, food, and drink frame an ice rink. It's a picture-perfect Christmas Market and well worth a visit. For a taste of Bruges in December, check out this video from We've Gone Touring:
You'll want to head to the Christmas Markets, but once you've ticked that off your bucket list, hit the local restaurants and cafés to sample Belgian treats, including their famous beer. If you seek a bit of culture then browse the museums. And please don't forget the chocolate shops. You can't miss them!
As evening draws in, board the coach back to the port where your ship awaits. You'll sail overnight while you sleep but make sure you check out the live entertainment before you head to bed. Also grab a bite to eat or enjoy a drink or two.
Sadly it's all over far too soon. You will dock back in Hull on Sunday morning where you will disembark. But that gives you a day to recover before heading back to work on the dreaded Monday morning. At least you'll come back full of Christmas spirit ready to count down the few days until 25th December!

So you know, the map above shows point-to-point lines which may cross land. Don't worry, your ferry will not sprout legs and run across dry land. Instead it's water all the way! Mapping is approximate, and the scheduled times are estimates. Your trip is subject to change as, occasionally, operators have to alter itineraries due to bad weather or unforeseen events.
On Thursday 19th July 2018, I found a starting price from £89 per person based on two sharing the cheapest cabin (usually this is an inside cabin).
What's that per night?
Want to compare this short break to a hotel stay? A starting price of 'from £89 per person' equates to 'from £44.50 per person per night'.
Are there any extras?
This price usually includes nightly accommodation on the ferry, and coach transfers between the port and the destination city. Cabin upgrades, food and drink, as well as any activities you wish to enjoy during your time in the city are normally excluded.
I regularly check for price changes by hand, but as they can occur rapidly, please use the link below to get the latest prices.
Remember, prices were correct when I last checked, but may have since changed. Prices are usually based on two adults sharing the cheapest available cabin.
