This themed mini cruise to Belgium is perfect if you love getting wrapped up in the festive spirit but loathe flying. Your effortless mid-week short break starts in Hull, the UK City of Culture in 2017, on Tuesday 4th December 2018.
Your home will be a modern cruise ferry bound for the Belgian port of Zeebrugge. Smaller than the ferries that run between the UK and Rotterdam, the ship still boasts plenty to keep you busy - shops, restaurants, bars, and a show lounge. But the real highlight is a set from a top Michael Bublé tribute act.
Expect to hear plenty of Christmas classics and tributes to Michael Bublé's most famous hits, Haven’t Met You Yet and Feeling Good. There's also a Rat Pack tribute so you'll also get to enjoy musical tributes to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Junior.
You'll sail overnight from Hull on Tuesday and arrive in Zeebrugge on Wednesday. Outside the terminal a coach will await, ready to whisk you off to the medieval city of Bruges. The coach park is to the south of the city with an easy walk into the historic centre. Here you'll find the annual Christmas Markets occupying Grote Markt, a big square in the city. Traditional stalls selling a variety of gifts, food, and drink frame an ice rink. It's a picture-perfect Christmas Market and well worth a visit.
Spend some time exploring the city's attractions, or enjoy some retail therapy. Authentic Belgian chocolate and Christmas spirit is a marriage that goes hand-in-hand. Trust me.
As evening draws in, board the coach back to the port where your ship awaits. You'll sail overnight while you sleep but make sure you check out the live entertainment before you head to bed. Also grab a bite to eat or enjoy a drink or two.
You will dock back in Hull on Thursday morning where you will disembark.
